Hello again

Another week of pandemic practices and we seem to be getting used to it. Certainly not happy about it or liking it, but not much option at this point

I’m very pleased that SCN members continue to be enthusiastic aabout meeting up – and our next members video conference or “SCN Cyber Meeting” will be on Monday 13th April at three different times so you can connect up to the one that most suits your timing (5pm BKK time, 5pm BCN time or 5pm NYC time). On the meetings of 13th, we will be sharing information on COVID-19 MEDICAL SUPPLIES as many members can supply masks, test kits and even respirators and many more need the items. Also, we’ll be seeing how we can share info on levels of logistics activity to share with your clients. Please share that with us so that we can start to make a data base for you.

Meanwhile, most of us continue to work – often in difficult situations. We’ve also been busy with more issues of payment and credit. Note that these are exceptional times, so more flexibility is needed from all of us. Many agents are being asked to pay cash on operations by airlines (especially in China), so despite SCN general guidelines, please don’t expect your fellow SCN member to give credit to you. Our guidelines are for payments approx in line with CASS payments – but these, as we mention are exceptional times. Remember, any request for variation in payment should be agreed on BEFORE the shipment takes place.

Apart from presenting our Covid-19 information, in terms of “SCN Medical Supplies Available” please also take a look through other news from members.  Uniexpress (Malaysia) talks of their merger of divisions for smoother trading, Best Logistics (Spain) gives info on a hand sanitizer that doesn’t wreck your hands, Bati Logistics (Turkey) wants to share info on their air charters to offer space; ICPI (Philipines)  informs of extensions of lockdown.

Meanwhile, we’re pleased to see our partner Currencies Direct talk of another successful collaboration with SCN member Intellog (Latvia). Glad to see some successful partnerships there too
