Hello once more
….virtually ready for something different? We are here at SCN, with our FIRST SCN VIRTUAL NETWORKING EVENT just a few days away. Will it be a success? What would represent a success? How much less do we dislike video meetings than a year ago? All difficult to answer, but many thanks for over 100 members, partners and contact who are currently arranging to meet to connect up.
If you’ve not been to a virtual conference before, at least give it a go. If you have, please let us know what was missing (apart from being together physically, the free pens and an odd beer!)
Due to the large number of meetings generated, we’ve been asked to EXTEND the schedule, so on Monday 30th we will activate additional meeting slots for Friday 4th December. This means that there is still time for you to register if you have not – and for those who HAVE registered, please remember to adjust your AVAILABILITY. Also note that we would welcome any volunteers for speakers at our four discussion groups. Let us know on that one
Looking forward to kicking off with:
- Welcome comments on our usual Cyber-slots (4pm BKK or 5pm BCN or 5pm BUE) Wed 2nd December
- One-to-One Virtual meetings & Discussion groups – Thurs 3rd December (Including SCNers Meet up DIY Cocktail at 3pm CET)
- Extended One-to-one virtual meetings – Fri 4th December
Apart from that (and in part motivated by the meeting) we are very pleased to announce some new facces around the SCN network. A warm welcome to Broekman Logistics (Poland) as our currently youngest member bringing additional knowledge and coverage for Poland. Also a warm welcome to Logixboard as a new partner providing dashboard prowess for your clients and already working with some members. You can also see Logixboard as speaker at next weeks event
A name that has been with just a month, but still a new face is Anil of UFS – Universal Freight Services (Nairobi, Kenya), who kindly gave some of his time to learn more of SCN. A much more established name is WTO – World Transport Overseas (Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, China) who we must congratulate for their Forbes Business Award for 2020.
There is also a word of warning about reefer surcharges from SCNer Merzario (Holland, Germany, UK, China, Vietnam, HK). Our apologies for this post being a few days old, and we all know that in these crazy times, the container shortage is getting worse on a daily basis. I’ll let you get off and start looking for a few more boxes!
…although before that, let me just wish a warm and happy Thanksgiving to all in the States – especialy of course to Dave and Joyce. A day to be grateful and thankful of what we have…as of course every day should be!
Take care
