The year 2021 has come to an end.
A year ago, we were all wishing for a better 2021 compared to 2020 which saw us facing the effects of being locked down or with limited movment. In the end it turns out that 2021 has not proved so very different to 2020!….although there is certainly more HOPE
Vaccines have slowed transmisions of Covid-19 and although mutations have brought new restrictions, imagine how we would have been without them. We have gotten used to video calls and conferences (yes, those damn TEAMs and Zoom do have their use!) and we have even had some “windows of possibility” with more activity, even if limited. Notably in SCN we had our smallest ever physical event, but it was maybe more appreciated than many others!
Where are we now? With Christmas close down madness, and with many companies short staffed with people out affected by Covid. Airlines, shipping lines and even SCN members who you thought were invincable. PATIENCE and care is needed more than ever-
Let us see what we can make of 2022. After all, if you’re going to have a good year, you should start deciding to have it NOW. We are fortunate to be in logistics, where there is always a need for services and many have seen that transform into a successful year economically. Well done on that.
From SCN, what I can say is that we’ll make a more concerted effort for 2022, whatever that may mean….
