4th June, 2020
Hello again
I hope you’re all holding out in your little, or possibly growing bubbles
Its clearly not right that this newsletter becomes a politically charged message to support one side or another of any argument. However, our multi-ethnic network can be seen as a diverse group of people around the world with not just an interest in doing business securely together, but we also individually have an interest in each others well-being. Can that be a guide to make us enthusiastic about a racially equal society? With so much racial hate still around, I feel honoured to be part of a community that can come together and be above all the old fashioned ignorance that promotes some thinking they are superior. Let us hope we see some justice in USA and other places in this regards soon
This week we are particularly looking forward to our next Cyber meeting on Monday 8th June. SCN does indeed want to come together – with security – whenever that is possible. Who better to have with us for a conversation than management of our next conference hotel: Marriott Marquis Queen Park, Bangkok? It is not enough to be enthusiastic about a conference, we want to be CONFIDENT that we can go and do business. Please click here to learn more and join us to plan for our next annual conference which will be next year – but how?
One member already eager to meet up and expand is Peninsula (UAE) who has now enrolled their office in Karachi to give us additional cover both on forwarding and also sourcing. Please welcome….. Regionality, Karachi to the network. Also very active is our member in Malaysia, Transcargo with their airfreight charters of gloves that Malaysia is famous for. Also hitting the news is the ever popular ILG Austria, who strengthens its team – another loud welcome for Ayesha there!
As we get back to normality in some parts of the world, bear a thought for the countries who are still suffering the full effects of Covid-19. Megafreight of Peru shares with us information on lockdown situation. We’re also pleased to see added interaction between Latin american members of the network – more news on that soon! Part of the interactions leads us to a widened SCN Country Activity Status with information on South American countries for members to become more informed and share with clients
Lots more going on in the network – get invovled and get visible so when the cargo starts to flow, you’ll be part of the voice.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
