Hello again

I’m sure that you won’t mind my weekly contact with you being turned over to the worthy cause of how our friends in Beirut are at this time, so please allow me to simply write to them…

Dear Mounir, all our friends at Khattab Shipping and the people of Beirut

Today all of our thougths are with you. I have not yet had the chance to visit your city, known for its beauty, but I intend to soon. The images we see of Beirut today are so saddening and we cannot imagine how you must all be feeling to face so much death and injury and of course a wrecked city. We are heartened to hear that no staff of Khattab Shipping were injured – such good fortune – but I’m sure that you will all know people who have perished or have lost so much

Mounir, during difficult times in the past, you have always shown great resolve to continue and have managed to flourish without needing our offerings of help.  Although this time is a new and larger challenge, I am sure that the strength of the Beruit people will get you up and running again soon, but don’t forget we are here to support you 

I have taken the liberty of adding some photos of your city in better times instead of posting some of the horrific scenes you are now seeing. Let us remember good times and look forward to enjoying them together again.

To brighter matters around the network, we are pleased to see various members looking into courier services to network with in SCN. Please let us know if you too can provide such services. We will also look to RAIL services as again members come forward…is that you?

A last shout out to you also if you’d like Sophie here at SCN to help out with your profile, contacts, access or specialities (before she goes off on holiday!). She will of course be back….I hope! I’m also hoping that Violeta comes back soon so we can keep in contact with you all a bit better 😉
