13th August, 2020 - Success and Specialities

Hello again from a very hot and sunny Barcelona

Here at SCN, we try hard to make sure that we can create community, see how members show their professional work with each other (and yes, occasionally make sure some don’t scratch each others eyes out!). Its therefore especially pleasing to see how members work together, concerned for each other’s interests as well as their own, in successful collaborations.

A couple of cases came to light this week: Wig Air (Mumbai, India) were able to send a shipment to Nigeria with confidence, thanks to the support of Platinum Freight Forwarders (Lagos, Nigeria). In another part of the world, a cross trade shipment of F.W. Neukirch (Bremen, Germany) was delivered effectively, efficiently and economically by ASF (Bucharest, Romania) to Constanta Romania. Very pleased to see the fruits of those collaborations and to be able to share them with you.

Meanwhile, members’ specialities are giving rise to more matters to talk about. Another project ends well for our good freind Robert Vermetten at TPL (Antwerp, Belgium), as did a shipment of military cargo for Golden Ways for Logistics (Amman, Jordan). A very different speciality, that of live animals, gave rise to more shipments from Globalog (Lisbon, Portugal) as they send different live animals around the world with loving care – from sheep to flamingos…all is possible!

Those of you who know Diaz de Vega in Mexico should also note that you should be looking for ADV Logistics Mexico from now, as they rebrand as they move onwards from their customs and port operations to wider logistics services throughtout Mexico.

Specialities is also the focus of our next SCN Cybermeeting, as we consider its oportunities as a strategy to ensure continued cargo flows. Please join us on Wednesday 2nd September….which also gives you time to consider what YOUR specialities are! Note that we’ve moved this meeting to Wednesday to see if its easier for you all to attend.
