In the news this week, SCNers...Dear
Ok….a bit of a new situation I wanted to share with you. We all have a few stones in the path, and I just wanted to let you know about one in mine. We all have a few stones in the path, and I just wanted to let you know about one in mine. I recently started seeing specks and some shades in my left eye, and after a quick trip to the doctor, they said I had a detached retina and surgery was needed. After dashing in for a vitrectomy (NOT one to google!) I’m now at home, facing downwards. I have luckily got a spare eye on the other side of my face, so not the end of the world, and compared to other ailments, I continue to consider myself a fortunate person.
For the next week or so, I need to be in certain positions for the gas implanted in my eye (yuck…don’t ask) to drain correctly after adhering the retina in its place. Therefore, I’m going to be available, but frankly much less. I need to be with my head down, which after more than 20 years of marriage, is of course my natural position at home 😉
I also consider myself fortunate to now have an excellent team with me at SCN. Maybe this is all a sign that I should delegate more. Activity in the network continues, as we move towards our next conference in Vietnam, welcome new members, guide members to other optimal solutions, further develop the SCN Data Hub and much more. A big thanks to the team at SCN who have been fantastic. An even bigger thanks to my long-suffering wife Anna, who continues to show virtues of patience and tolerance despite her poor taste in chosing her husband.
I am still around for any matters, and despite my left side, full of the vision of collaboration between SCN members. Please let us know if we can help out for you. My phone still works, even if I’m going to save you from unpleasant zooms and teams these days!
So, remember to look after yourselves and that doctors are here to be trusted and help. Don’t delay going to see them!
Have a great week and have a look at what’s happening around your favourite community and network. Don’t hold back on writing to us, so others can see what a great company you have there! Also take a look at some of the growth and activity we have in the network in this newsletter
