In the news this week, SCNers...

Dear

Today, a quick message to all of those that DIDN’T come to the Annual SCN Conference in Vietnam

We’re REALLY sorry not to have seen you there.

We’re all very busy with 100 fires to put out, and fully understand that fitting in an international trip into your agenda isnt easy. I am mainly sorry that you missed out on the very human aspect of working in logistics. This has ALWAYS been the real buzz that has attracted me to and kept me in this industry (which when compared to an overflowing InBox or a frustrating CRM, that’s maybe not suprising!) and that can be said I think of almost everyone at the conference.

Thousands of ideas, as well as shared expereinces in logistics and  beyond. If you’re open and sociable, these events are a time to learn from others around the world. If you’re shy and a little more introverted, or not so fluent in other languages, there are always people like you too.

If you’re busy with other commitments, try and make a little space in your agenda to join us next year to see what we’re talking about. If you’re looking to move forward digitally, then join us in our new format event in New Orleans in March – if not, we’ll soon let you know about the next annual conference.

Before then, we’ll be pushing forward with the key focus points, starting with sustainability and carbon reporting. If that’s not of interest to you…..well, it probably SHOULD be. If it is, connect up with us and we can share SCNers experiences with you.

Take a few mins to flash through the news posted by some of the SCN members, before you start to enjoy that well earned weekend

….and a final word to say welcome to the world to a new SCNer, and congratulations to the happy parents. Henry Foster is now with us!

MEMBER NEWS:

Fraudulent Claims for SCN membership

Please note there have been a number of members confirming that they have received fraudulent request for payment in the name of SCN.

These have been sent from non-SCN domains (@outlook.be, @outlook.com) and using names of people not in SCN’s employ. They have however copied format of SCN messages and invoices.

We strongly suggest that you BLOCK these email addresses to avoid multiple repeat emails. Do not simply eliminate, as this wont stop them

We thank you all for your careful attitude to payments. If you have any doubts on payments to SCN, PLEASE PICK UP THE PHONE.

Departures & Suspensions:

Please note that the following SCN members have decided not to renew their membership with SCN:

  • Relay Customs Logistics (Johannesburg, South Africa)
  • DeWitt Move Worldwide (United States of America)

If you have outstanding debts (we understand there are none) please inform us immediately.

A reminder that you should CHECK ON SCN’S MEMBER DIRECTORY for all current members who have SCN coverage. We have received reports of another ex-Member “forgetting to remove SCN’s logo from their emails”. Please report this if you see incorrect use of SCN’s logo and we will do all possible to have it removed.
