Welcome!

Time to take a look at some of SCN’s network activity this week.

Before you do, we are both deeply concerned with the situation in Ukraine and also profoundly warmed by the show of solidarity with the Ukraine people. We have Ukrainian members in our community who stand strong for peace once more in their country. Their resilience and strength give us hope in an atrocious moment of history

Let us also not forget that we also have Russian members in our community who are firmly against the aggression. We all need a time when we can trade and live in peace, free of the polarising and imperialistic views and policies of certain leaders. It is not easy to stand up against a tyrannical leader who acts on behalf of your country but not in your name. Let us all be humane to our fellow humans and open to our possibilities.

Stop the war.
Return to Russia.
Respect international borders and sovereignty.
Let us live in peace.

Dear SCNer

At a time of great tension, as we’re just getting through Covid and its restrictions, we now have a new war in europe. It is good that we as a community try our hardest to connect, discuss and understand.

We greatly look forward to our next SCN Cybermeeting. When this was set up, a few weeks ago, we were “simply” looking forward to Lars Jensen’s conclusions and forcasts on post covid normality. I’m sure the effects on the economy and shipping will now be added to the debate. I am also very pleased to confirm that ONE line will be joining us for our Spanish meeting (15:00hrs MIA time) – maybe all the shipping lines will start to speak to forwarders again soon

Remember these are FREE sessions, for everyone and we want your perspective too. Everyone is busy, but are you too busy to put aside 45 mins of your time and get some global perspective on your current pain points? Please register and join us.

Thanks also to Alfa Forwarding (Poland) for their offer of assistance to Ukraine. Other offers are also coming in and we are looking to coordinate in some way.

Regarding member news, take a look at the now extended services of BC Logistics (Phoenix, USA) as they merge with Dimerco. Jeff and Vicki are known to most of you and are pleased to share the news with us all.

Finally also thanks to a couple of our UK members who gave up some of their time to disucss their business and how we can progress with the network in my recent trip. Ears always open.
