Hello once more

Another week goes by and its clear that we all continue to think just of covid-19 and how it is affecting our lives. It makes you wonder what it will all be like a year from now, and we are all looking back on the experience. How much will we have learnt?

I was exeptionally pleased to be able to see some faces on Friday with our first steps into the world of video-conferencing. Almost 100 people registered for our “Cyber-Cocktails”, spread across our three time zones: Asia time zone, Europe/Africa time zone and Americas time zone. A superb experience to see faces and hear opinions across the globe.

Many thanks to all who commented – both those telling us of how they are getting through the virus and those trying to get back to normal. There were a lot of offers of medial equipment for those who need it, as well as comments of surviving being locked down at home.

We want this to become a regular feature of SCN communications and we’d like your feedback on how we can do this, so we can create space for diverse conversation on logistics matters. Therefore, we’ll have three quick “drop by” sessions to get your comments on Friday 3rd April. If you’ve not done a video conference before, note that we hadn’t either. Feeling uncomfortable? Leave your video or audio switched off…but come along and listen at least.
