In the news this week, SCNers...Dear
I know that we go on and on about the SCN ANNUAL CONFERENCE – just one week in a year taking up so much attention – but I guess if we didnt work in an industry which is most skilfully negotiated with a mix of humanity and technology, we maybe wouldnt need to.
Very pleased to see that once again we have a very large and representative group joining us in Vietnam and now cant wait to see you all and shake you all up until you tell us what you think about life, the universe and everything…especially regarding logistics. There is still time to join us, if you are quick, if you want to know from others in your industry how to get over your pain points and head to success…or help them over theirs. You can also get to check out what people REALLY look like, and not just their social media photos (or those submitted to SCN…which are usually from about 10 years back 😉
Sustainability……digitalization….branching into LATAM….SCN Trade Exchange…..and much more to get involved with
The One-2-One scheduler is already open and for the attendees who have NOT yet logged on…..WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??
FRAUD, SPAM, PHISHING & “Linda”.
One person we will NOT be welcoming in Vietnam is the cyberfigure of “Linda Freeman” who certainly doesnt work at SCN. A reminder that you need to be careful of all and any emails that you receive. Unfortunately some SCN members have received emails from non SCN accounts asking for funds for unpaid invoices which dont exist. If you have any doubt with us, or in fact with ANYONE, remember that you can easily call and check.
If you have recevied phishing mails, please make sure you BLOCK them and report, instead of just deleting. This will stop the flow. If not, the mails will simply be on repeat.
..and what else is happening….?
As for other news from around the globe, a new member joins us in Lahore, Pakistan. Please welcome Send 2 World Logistics. T&M Logistics gets us ready for Vietnam with more information on how their country is out to do trade, and slay a few dragons on the way. Hevile (Brasil) are boosting their fruit and perisables by reaching out in Fruit attraction (will YOU be there too?) and important corporate news as OTS merges with Synergie in Canada to give improved services and options in the country.
On a much sadder note I regret to have to inform you of the passing away of Giorgio Balzaretti, father of Marco. (Allservices, Milan Italy). One of the early networkers in the SCN community and of course the driving force behind Allservices from its beginning. Our thoughts are with the Balzaretti Family as we remember some good times together with Giorgio.
…..”See you in Vietnam“….and for any further doubts, we will briefly check in on Wed 4th October with a final mini cybermeeting to accept your questions.
Enjoy the rest of your week,

The SCN Team
