In the news this week, SCNers...

Dear

I hope that you appreciate that we’ve given you a bit of down time for the summer. The SCN team has had a chance to re-charge batteries and is now ready to get you all networking again.

High on the agenda is of course the upcoming ANNUAL CONFERENCE. There is still time to join, but you really havent got much time left to decide. We have an informative SCN CYBERMEETING on 6th September (the usual 3 sessions to fit your agenda) – you can ask any questions and see what we’re trying to do with the conference. Plus of couse see some faces of who’s coming!

We are pleaed to welcome a new member to the SCN community – AOF Cargo Logistics in Taiwan, as well as the return of Trans Pacific (Vietnam). A stead flow of new raffic and members is healthy for the network, although those markets will now be closed to new potential members. We do still have open markets, so encourage your contacts to join the #SCNcommunity

We will shortly be announcing developments on  Sustainability in Logistics, so please let us know what your programs are for carbon reporting, offsetting and insetting. If you dont know what these are, come along to Vietnam as we will be discussing these matters….before legislation is activated to suprise you or the planet explodes.

Another warning here to be VERY CAREFUL with payment requests. After someone received a list of SCN members (not from us) many members have been sent invoices from non-SCN mail addresses, asking for funds. However clumsy the attempt for money, its not easy to see these things without being careful. Remember to BLOCK AND REPORT any fraudulent mails as simply erasing will probably mean more will come later to annoy and waste our time.

Please have a quick look through messages and achivements of other SCN members – and remember to tell us what YOU are up to, so we can share the achivement here, on social media and on your profile. New from GREECE, USA, BRASIL, PHILIPPINES and beyond.

…..”See you in Vietnam“….and before on Wednesday to talk about it

Have a great week…

MEMBER NEWS:

Fraudulent Claims for SCN membership

Please note there have been a number of members confirming that they have received fraudulent request for payment in the name of SCN.

These have been sent from non-SCN domains (@outlook.be, @outlook.com) and using names of people not in SCN’s employ. They have however copied format of SCN messages and invoices.

We strongly suggest that you BLOCK these email addresses to avoid multiple repeat emails. Do not simply eliminate, as this wont stop them

We thank you all for your careful attitude to payments. If you have any doubts on payments to SCN, PLEASE PICK UP THE PHONE.

Departures & Suspensions:

Please note that the following SCN has now been suspended from coverage of Securityplus!

  • RELAY CUSTOMS LOGISTICS (Johannesburg, South Africa)

We are working with this member to see if they can be reinstated. We understand that there are no outstanding debts to SCN members, but if there are, please report them to us immediately for coverage of payment.

A reminder that you should CHECK ON SCN’S MEMBER DIRECTORY for all current members who have SCN coverage. We have received reports of another ex-Member “forgetting to remove SCN’s logo from their emails”. Please report this if you see incorrect use of SCN’s logo and we will do all possible to have it removed.

*****************

SCN members are protected from bad payments, bankruptcy and default by our member owned fund, Securityplus! This allows for traffic to flow freely and allows members to extend credit terms to initiate collaboration.

As always it is your duty and in your interest to bring details of any delayed payments to us as quickly as possible. Please ensure this is done so we can keep our payment fund, Securityplus! a healthy protection plan for your secure business.

Special Note:

  • Shipments to and from RUSSIA are NOT covered by Securityplus!
  • Shipments made by branches of companies that are NOT registered as SCN members are NOT covered by Securityplus!
