In the news this week, SCNers...
We may be in the age of communication – but let’s face it, with the range of possible communications methods open to us, its a confusing world
Take our now very popular SCN Cybermeetings. We like as many to come along as possible to share their points of view and to learn from others. we truly believe that SCN can be a Forum of debate and communication in logistics. This week we made a significant twist in the communications by having various I.T. companies coming to share info on their wares. We had three very interesting conversations showing us how we can integrate, digitalize and basically work more efficiently. Leading from the meetings, various SCN members are already looking into contracting some of the solutions. Delighted to have initiated these contacts
Why is this strange? Some of our meetings are larger, others smaller but all valuable. The more people the harder to get into detail but the more ground or people that are covered. Overall, we find that the nature of the conversation changes between audience and topic, not its level of being constructive. The strange part is SOCIAL MEDIA. How is it that so much INTENTION is shown on LinkedIn, and then a completly different group turns up? Is it more important to be SEEN as participating than asking the questions?
Another possibility is that we are all just dazzled by screens so much with an excess of them coinciding with Covid19. I know! What we all need is to break out of that one by actually seeing the faces of each other once more. Is it too soon? Well, maybe in some parts of the world, but for those fortunate to be living in countries with early vaccines, lets get moving again and interacting like we humans should. Will you be quick enough to sign up for the limited places of the SCN European Meet up??
As I have said before, business is just a bunch of personal contacts. Very glad to have you as one of mine!
Enjoy your weekend….and maybe even a little football 😉
