In the news this week, SCNers...Dear
Now the dust has settled, its probably a more important time than any to think of the horrific consequences of the earthquake in South East Turkey and Northern Syria. As the cameras start to look elsewhere for their newest news, there are millions in terrible conditions and needing of our help. Let us all try and be human as we continue in the rat-race of life. SCN has been able to give to Turkey’s efforts and we’re checking what can be done for Syrian families too. Please try and be a part of the recovery and solution
Meanwhile, in SCN, we continue with our mission to put members in contact with each other both for receiving service (and routings!) but also for guiding each other around the quagmire of progress in our industry. It seems especially useful to have a “feet on the ground” approach to how to move ahead digitally and I thank members and partners (and some other guests) who joined us to discuss how useful and genuinely easy programs of RATE MANAGEMENT, including quoting and booking really are. Have a quick look at the report if you missed the meeting and ask us for comments, if you what to improve that aspect of your business….and after seeing some of the options…YOU WILL!
We are always thankful of members who make time to connect, learn from others and advance with SCN. Also those who want to see and be seen! Try and connect up and participate – there is a lot of advantages of SCN once you can find the time. It is also important to be aware of the limitations and time needed – let us put you in contact with other members if you want their comments! Also, let us know what YOU want to discuss with the SCN Community – we’ll set it up.
Good timing from Con-Linq, our new IT partner, offering their software to help with pricing, quoting and control of the quotes made. After meeting some members in Bangkok, they also joined the Cybermeetings with some comment and suggestions for members. Thanks for that.
More good timing from AGEM Cargo – new member in Colombia and with an office just round the corner from our regional meeting venue in April. More members are signing up and confirming (although many are also busy this week in Singapore for some reason…haha). Speaking of Colombia, we have just arranged a plastic recovery activity for just before the meeting, so make sure you leave yourself with a bit of time when booking your flights.
Hevile Logistica is also branching out to give you more coverage in Brasil….give then a call and you’ll see what they’re up to. We also look forward to meeting up with them in Cartagena soon!
Finally, I’m sure you’ll allow me the liberty of a post on Keely, formerly of Wallis Shipping. She meant a lot to me as we started networking at about the same time – a lot of shared experiences. Thanks for all of those, Keely.
Now, get out there and connect up! Life’s short and the world’s a big place.
