In the news this week, SCNers...Dear
A question for you all to consider and write to us with your thoughts, opinions…complaints…
Is your TMS and logistics software too expensive?
Of course all who were at our conference in Vietnam will know EXACTLY why I’m asking that, as the question was raised (and defended ;-)) there.
Just HOW MUCH is reasonable? How much time does an integration, an IT update or implementation of a whole new system take? How much of YOUR time, being (possibly) not an expert in the field, can you give to such a program, or do you have dedicated staff for that for a smooth launch. How much of your time is really saved once it is fully operative.
Here at SCN we are increasingly being the forum where those questions are asked and answered. As most know, we have PARTNERS associated to the network to give forwarding members some options and suggestions. Importantly we are NOT salesmen for them but instead want to add their voices to the debate while making them ACCOUNTABLE for the promises the make. We want the right software for SCN members and the right developments to continue progressing.
With that in mind, two updates on partners. Firstly that we have decided to not renew our partnership with FREIGHTIFY. We remain interested in hearing any feedback on them and ANY digital providers, but to date the results with FREIGHTIFY with regards rate management have NOT been positive for SCN members and more importantly, we have not been given clarity and information on activity despite insistence from SCN. Maybe its a good program…we simply can’t say.
More importantly regarding digital partners, we are getting them and SCN members together in New Orleans USA on 20-22nd March to progress and discuss what is happening in that sphere of logistics. If you’re digitally progressive, digitally curious or think you should be, please see if you can join us. Note this is NOT our SCN Annual conference, which will happen later in the year (start of October) but instead a meeting focused on digital success, drawing on the REAL EXPERIENCES of SCN members.
Before that on your agenda, make sure you also join us to understand more regarding SUSTAINABILITY in logistics. Depending on where you operate, you will either need to be reporting on your emissions soon, or, your interest in emissions will be important for others in the supply chain AND to be able to offer the service for discerning clients. Click to join us and learn more on the essential subject.
Finally a warm welcome to new members who are joining us
- Logistos (Zurich, Switzerland)
- SITC Logistics (Seoul, S Korea)
And also to ne partner Pledge Earth Tech, to help us all with measurement of Scope 3 emissions. Hope to hear more from them in the Cybermeeting on 29th Novermber
Have yourselves a great week.If you’re having a positive one, let us know about what you’re doing (and if its not so positive, let us know how we can help out ;-))
