So we did it!

After such a long wait, it was fantastic to pull people together for what many are saying is our best conference ever – especially when considering the multiple opportunities for connecting and networking with SCN members.

Networking….

A word so often used, in our industry and many others. But have we fallen into the conclusion that “good networking” is just a matter of adding to a larger number of contacts (or friends!) in an ever diminishing value of those contacts? REAL networking needs understanding from both One-2-One contact AND more open debate with interested piers.

At SCN, we have a different concept of networking. That is bringing together more people so that they can connect in groups too. Forums and exchanges that promote ACTIVE contacts between companies and importantly PEOPLE to give each other solutions.

At the SCN ANNUAL CONFERENCE, we’re proud to have brought members together so they can work closer digitally

• SCN Data Hub: Already allowing members with different IT programs to integrate their shipments without errors or additional data input.
• SCN Trade Exchange: Developing links between members who work with the same product, allowing forwarders to help their clients get alternative sourcing or new clients
• SCN Project Cargo. Allowing members to identify similarly focused colleagues to handle the more complex shipments.
• Digital Progress: Bringing members to discuss their needs, successes (and frustrations) together as they move ahead digitally

SCN has also began important work on promoting responsible recycling with our strategic partnership with REBOUND – PLASTIC EXCHANGE. We are increasingly aware of the need not just to recycle, but to recycle effectively, and not just separate and put in a land fill!

We want to thanks warmly all SCN members who were able to make it to Bangkok and our 18th Annual Conference – and encourage all others to try and make it in the future. Face to face is where the real networking action happens.

Following we are now in conversations with various new potential members as well as putting various programs into action. Lots to do…..!

 Now its a question of turning INTEREST into ACTION……..are you with us?
