In the news this week, SCNers...Dear Networker!
Yes, be it within SCN or not, we should be increasingly pleased of the benefits that being open to conversation can bring. Even if we try to ignore those viral (and often frivilous) social media videos and tendancies, it is ever more clear how connecting with people in your space and network can be beneficial.
Many forwarders are just back from WCA’s meeting in Singapore, others have gone onto the JC Trans event or Intermodal in Brasil. I hope that all that have participated have managed not just to shake many many hands, but also to learn of tendancies in our industry – finding time to sit down and have meaningful conversations in a busy and fast world can be difficult
Here at SCN, we continue to hear comments on our DIGITAL PROGRESS conversations. We try and give options and recommendations of IT suppliers and solutions and we are now going to be increasingly demanding of partners to speak of POSITIVE solutions given to SCN members. Please KEEP THE COMMENTS COMING on your suppliers for TMS, digital pricing, integration and other IT: both success that you’ve had and also requirements you need.

Also on the agenda of conversation is our NEXT cybermeeting. Focused directly for those coming to Colombia in April, or thinking about it, we want to know what we can expect in terms of potential in LATAM market and how to get ready for Colombia to make the meeting beneficial. Connect up and see who’s interested in LATAM too.
While we look to the future, let’s also not forget a sad anniversary. I was very pleased to hear this week from Kiy Avia of Kiyv, Ukraine. Konstantin confirms that his business is still very active, despite a very difficult economic situation (to say nothing of the political situation….which should maybe be discussed elsewhere). Resilience and adaptability is of course part of forwarding, as Kiy Avia is showing by focusing on specific moves with limited cargo gateways to the country. Remote working, smaller consignments and more personal effects are all part of a modified cargo situation. We wish you well, Konstantin, and I hope to be able to take you up on your invitation soon.
Again, looking to the future, many are asking for dates of our ANNUAL CONFERENCE. We will shortly be announcing details, but we can already say that you need to block the dates of 10th to 13th October and be around in Ho Chi Minh. Add some days later if you want to have more diverse conversations with members. News soon!
Let’s connect and share some knowledge in 2023!
