Hello again

I’m back after taking a week’s holiday to be with my family – thanks to Anna, Max & Sam, and Claudia too, for a wonderful few days in sunny Mallorca, Spain. It was great to be away from it all for a short time. The island was a bit strange with almost no tourists from UK, Germany and other places giving it a very different feeling.  I’m now left wondering if I’m back with my batteries charged up, or if I still need a few more weeks away 😉 If you too prefer that I spend more time away, just let me know and I’ll respectfully take the hint and leave for longer!

Still, back in the thick of it all now

Now that we’re all used to video meetings, and it looks like they will continue for some time, I’d like to thank all those who were able to share their thoughts and strategies on our SCN Cybermeeting of this week.  It is interesting to see how different strategies work differently around the world and learn for other members. We all need to focus…..or do we?

Also thanks to Avia Git (Armenia) for another “Zooming in on…” session so we can get to know members better. We’ve also been in contact with ICAT (We’ll tell you about that next week). Let us know if you’d like to get something off your chest or catch up. We’ll find a time. If you also want to speak to any other SCN member, we can link you up too. Elsewhere around the network, WTO (Bulgaria & Adriatic) are also expanding and branching out into Shanghai – very pleased to support their growth.

Between SCN members, its always great to learn about successful shipments being completed….but we also know that some shipments go badly wrong and that’s when support is really needed. Glad that Tradewise (Australia) and T&M Forwarding (Vientam) were able to count on each other through a problematic shipment with various months of demurrages. Even if its not your fault, you can sometimes help out. Well done guys!

Take a look too at Yeniay Lojistik (Turkey) moving boats, New Globe (India) moving garments with their new inspection centre and Sedres (Saudi Arabia) moving pretty much everything in their company profile ( just to show you what you can add for other members to see).

Looks like there’s a bit too much movement for me to be thinking of taking another week off….

I also want to ask something important of you for our good member and friend Chris Cser (ICAT, Detroit). We need all the positive vibes that the network can build up, to be sent over to him, as his son Nick (Pickle to the buddies) is going through a rough time. Its not often that I dig into personal issues like this, but the strength of the SCN Community really can make a difference on people as we stand together. We’ll be looking into ways where we can support you all just a bit more.

Chris, Renee….and of course Nick. Our thoughts, prayers and good wishes to see you all smiling again really are all with you, from 100 countries around the world.
