As part of their logistics operations, Al Kazemi group handles Project Logistics. Civil Work is part of OOD Cargo moves; they also conduct route surveys, arrange road widening, removal and reinstallation of Road Fixtures. Shajy George, General Manager of Al Kazemi Group, explains that Project Logistics activities for the last two years have been more limited: cargo movements for awarded projects are almost over and new ones are yet to come. However, they have had a few Oil Rigs, Cable drums and Transformer moves that kept them busy last year even in the midst of Covid.
A good example of the capability of Al Kazemi is their work on the “Clean Fuel Project, Mina Al Ahmadi, Kuwait“. Shipments including exceptional loads were brought in with conventional vessels from Korea, Indonesia and other locations. These included a reactor from Korea (38.47×6.46×6.46m – 662 tons) and a coker fractionator (65.30×7.30×7.90m – 327 tons) which both required port gate modifications and road widening, street and traffic light modificaion and SPMT deployment.
The longest piece that has ever arrived in Kuwait was also coordinated by Al Kazemi and required the removal and refixing of Shuaiba port gate. 83.80 x 8.62 x 9.87m – 480 tons was safely coordinated to its destination at Mina Al Ahmadi from its origin in Korea. The on-shore logistics of the Clean Fuel Project was handled by a JV between Al Kazemi and Al Majdouie, KSA.
Clearly an out OOG container or an overweight load is well within their capabilities!
