Our member BSI Air Charter recently completed a challenging air charter project, transporting 14 pieces of oversized, uncrated project cargo from Zhengzhou, China, to Dubai.

The numbers speak for themselves:
π¦ 14 pieces of cargo
βοΈ 89 tonnes in total
π Up to 12.76 metres long
β±οΈ 20 days from enquiry to airborne
π οΈ Engineering Cargo That Wasnβt Built to Fly
Moving cargo of this size by air requires more than simply finding aircraft capacity. BSI developed custom load-bearing pallet structures and extended aviation boards, assembled at the airport to safely accommodate the cargoβs unusual dimensions and shapes.
π From Factory to Airport
The operation involved dedicated heavy trucking, special security screening, customs supervision, airline coordination and carefully secured ramp slots β with every detail aligned before the cargo started moving.
π Preparing for Arrival
The destination side was planned in parallel, with customs clearance, duties, special road permits, local escorts and offloading equipment arranged in advance to keep the project moving once the cargo landed.
π‘ One Chain, One Operation
With continuous coordination between trucking teams, the terminal, airline and overseas agent, BSI managed route feasibility, weight-and-balance contingencies and real-time operational requirements throughout the project.

The result? Zero damage. Zero compliance delays. Airborne in just 20 days. β
This project is a great example of how successful out-of-gauge air freight depends on bringing together engineering, inland transportation, airport operations and destination logistics as one coordinated chain.
π Congratulations to the BSI Air Charter team and all their partners on successfully delivering this impressive project!
