On May 9th, Best Services International Freight Ltd. (BSI) successfully completed an air charter transportation of 74 polo horses from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Hangzhou, China on flight QR8530. After quarantine, these horses will participate in the World Women’s Polo Rose Cup 1003 in Chongqing on July 20th.
Challenges:
- Limited time and urgent requirement- Only 4 weeks left upon receiving inquiry from customers to the departure deadline in Buenos Aires.
- Due to quarantine requirements, the air charter must follow a specific route and can only stop at Doha, with no any other place involved.
- Regulatory compliance with local requirements and practices for live animals transport
Scope of work:
- Immediately arrange a dedicated and professional team to communicate with all concerned, and establish a summary table defining all responsibilities and tasks, ensuring every progress smoothly conducted and clearly recorded.
- Dispatch senior support personnel to Argentina in advance and follow the flight all the way to assist all operation issues– be familiar with the environment and liaise with key personnel responsible to communicate project status, confirming the navigation rights and cargo permits, as well as the visa issues for the eight horsekeepers.
- Investigate clients’ requirements and coordinate with QR and prepare everything possible to cope with potential emergencies.
- Upon arrival in China, our team follows up on the horse support matters, such as Customs boarding inspection, unloading the containers, and handing over documents to the ground handling.
