SCN member Cabezut Cargo recently completed the successful transportation of a 15-ton gas compressor, along with its accessories and complementary components, as part of the GRI Project.

The shipment involved oversized and overweight cargo, requiring a combination of specialized road transportation and ocean freight using a 40′ Flat Rack container.
🚛 Operational Challenges
The complexity of the project demanded precise coordination among all parties involved. Due to the cargo’s weight and dimensions, successful execution depended on the seamless synchronization of:
• Transport operators
• Specialized carriers
• Port terminal personnel
• A dedicated heavy-lift crane provider responsible for loading operations
Another critical factor was the management of free time allowances at origin. Specialized equipment such as Flat Rack containers often comes with limited terminal storage windows, making careful planning essential to avoid delays and additional costs.
