SCN member Shams N Qamar Logistics Services Co. Ltd. has shared a critical notice from SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization) regarding new customs clearance requirements for shipments to Saudi Arabia.

Effective January 1, 2025, the following rules will apply to ensure compliance with SASO regulations:

🔹 Mandatory Certification Requirements:

  • All shipments must have both a Certificate of Conformity and a Shipment Certificate, issued through the SABER platform, to secure customs clearance.

🔹 Key Regulations to Note:

  • Undertaking letters will no longer be accepted for customs clearance procedures.
  • Issuance of SABER certificates after a shipment’s arrival will be considered a violation, and the Certification Body will be held fully accountable.

These new measures aim to uphold the quality and safety standards of imported goods entering Saudi Arabia.
