Dear SCNer

The horrors in Ukraine continue. Let us hope that some humane thinking (and pressure) can allow that war to come to a close, as we also hope is the case with many other forgotten wars in other parts of Africa.

We are very pleased that here at SCN, we are manageing to pull people together for greater understanding and dialogue. If you’re reading this, you probably know that we continue to connect people with our SCN Cybermeetings, and you possibly also attended. If that’s you, try suggesting to others, who equally want to get their face out of their “In-box” and into some debate. 

Thanks for all of you who took part, especially the members who asked the questions (or gave some answers). Even more especially, I’d like to thank Lars Jensen for his insight into the current situation of ocean freight rates. Also to Cesar Falcón of ONE – I’m sure we all think that shipping lines are hiding away from conversation. It is good to see that not all are….(well, just a little bit!).

We are already getting suggestions about what members want to debate on next time. Air freight rates and market? Digitalization in forwarding? The logistics effects of the war on Ukraine?…Please let us know and we’ll put together the global community of SCN to discuss it
