In the news this week, SCNers...Dear
“Just press the button”…
“If its so simple, can you do it for me?”
“No, YOU have to do it, but its really easy….”
Maybe its just me, but the mismatch between what all digital advances market to you and the implementation reality is a continual frustration. Blaming another part of the system (ie. something already in your ERP) is as infuriating at that mechanic looking at your car and tutting at what has been repaired before.
Its with that in mind that we’ll be taking a deep look at digital rates, rate management and quoting programs on the next Cybermeeting of SCN. Let’s get behind the promises and discuss what we actually need and what works. It wont be the same for everyone, but we’re VERY interested in what YOU, as SCN member are doing, so you can explain how well you can quote, how easy it was to start off….or not!

Speaking with many many members, it is strange how frequently the promises of the programs being sold are a little optimistic. What better place to see where we are and who to follow than the forum of discussion that is SCN!
Join us on 14th February (if your sweetheart will spare you for 45 mins!)
Please give a warm welcome to our new members of this newsletter:
CLX Logistics (Philadelphia, USA). I first met Jim of CLX at a conference of I.T. for forwarding – a big focus of CLX, who realise what an enhanced digital approach to forwarding can do for clients and service. WELCOME!
Also Sea Land Cargo (Monterrey, Mexico). Here, Sea Land found us! Always good to know that the members of SCN generate a reputation of profesionality in the industry. (#mutual pat on the back for that)
Another big welcome to Best Global Logistics (Bangkok, Thailand) Here it was a member referral that brough this highly professional company from Thailand with excellent FCL volumes and contacts to SCN. Already known to some of you – for the rest, why not send a quick message to see what collaboration possibilities there are with YOUR focus.
It is also good to see and support our valued members as they open new branches and grow, like the case of Freyer International (Mumbai, India) who’s five years in SCN has allowed them to grow and grow.
For those of you who want to get face to face, the REGIONAL MEETING in Cartagena, Colombia will clearly allow all attendees to both grow WITHIN the region of LATAM and also members to and from LATAM. If you can come, get registered. If you have business with the region, contact us and let us know what moves and what you need. SCN is enhancing its cover and options in the region so YOU can grow in this market.
We’re proud to say we’re also looking at making a difference with our increasing focus on PLASTIC USE at our conference in Colombia. Interested?
We’re also being asked a lot of the ANNUAL CONFERENCE, which we are finalising plans for. That will be OCTOBER 2023. Dates soon….patience please!
So, lots going on. We know we can’t get all your calendar for SCN activity, but:
- Spare us 45 mins on 14th Feb – to see and be seen if you’re interested in agile RTM and quoting
- Consider the possibilites you have in LATAM
- Connect and tell us what you’re up to and how 2023 is starting for YOU
Let’s connect and share some knowledge in 2023!
