Rotra 100% climate neutral in 2021 | 1st climate neutral forwarder
By signing a cooperation agreement with sustainability partner Climate Neutral Group, Rotra will be 100% climate neutral as of 2021 and as a result will be the 1st climate neutral forwarder. How we do that?
Zero emission
The sustainable transition is in full swing. At Rotra, however, we believe that the fight against climate change cannot move fast enough. We are impatient and want to be able to leave a healthy planet to the next generation(s). We have been able to reduce emissions since the 1980s with trucks on alternative fuels, solar cells on our warehouses, transport by rail and training our employees.
We strive for zero emission in the (near) future. Within our domain, we analyze our sustainability performance regarding all our own activities. Through these measurements we will be able to see what is already going well and what can be improved. We ensure that all initiatives are measurable, so that we can see together what we are working towards. We keep track of these results every year by means of an extensive climate check. At the same time, we are also looking at sustainability opportunities within our own chain, in relation to our suppliers and partners.
100% climate neutrality
However, in this transition to zero emission CO2 is still released into the atmosphere. We cannot fix this overnight. That is why we are taking action now and immediately fully compensate our residual emissions. In collaboration with our sustainability partner Climate Neutral Group, we offset all emissions from all activities by all our employees at all our locations by investing in certified sustainability projects such as planting new trees, wind energy projects and projects to protect rainforests. As a result we will have direct impact and we offer our customers the opportunity to make a difference by opting for 100% climate neutrality from Rotra. Climate compensation is supported and promoted by the United Nations to prevent climate change.
