WALLIS WELCOMES NEW EVENTS CO-ORDINATOR
Wallis Shipping Services is pleased to announce their newest member of the Events Team, Amber Newton, who will be the co-ordinator for all Exhibition Freight at Wallis from their head office in Colchester.
Amber began assisting the Sales and Operations department at Wallis in February, and with a growing interest for the industry and logistics, it gave Amber an insight into how she could apply this to events and exhibitions. The Wallis Event team has grown in the last year with also the recruitment of Mike Barrett, Wallis’ Event & Exhibitions Manager, who will oversee Amber.
Amber and Mike, together with the Event and Sales team, will work on cargo going to exhibitions and various known calendar events around the world. The team are currently planning everything from stand builds at Gamescom in Germany to airfreighting grass cutting equipment to the Middle East to help with the build of new sports stadiums.
Amber said: “I’m excited to join the Wallis Events team and for the continued growth in the department. We’re involved in so many different projects, so it keeps it really interesting. With past marketing experience I am also looking forward to creating strategies to build business innovation within the Events sector.”
Gaining a First-Class Honours Degree at the University of Winchester in English Literature and American Studies, Amber relocated to Essex after her studies, having previously worked in sales for two years.
With a passion for travel, and backpacking around South East Asia, as well as multiple emigrations to New Zealand, where she spent her childhood, Amber has her fair share of first-hand global experience!
Wallis warmly welcomes Amber into the team and looks forward to the opportunities and success within the department that lies ahead.
