This week in our “Zoom into SCN….” we have had the pleasure of the company of one of our newest members to SCN, 1Up Cargo, with offices in Australia, Canada and South Africa. Kevin Addison (Australian Director) and Masha Mia (North America Director) told us a bit more about their current situation and 1 Up Cargo’s coverage and focuses.
As such, strange times in Australia. A flare up of Covid some weeks back in the state of Victoria (re Melbourne) has produced a strict lockdown and curfew. Meanwhile, further north in Sydney, strike action and congestion means that some lines are skipping the port – causing problems for many. Patience there if you’re handling cargo there at present.
Meanwhile at 1UP Cargo, they are getting increasingly used to “home-Working”. This hasn’t been such a big step, as they had some flexible working before the pandemic and were already 100% paperless (well done there!!)
But 1UP Cargo’s coverage is not just limited to their 4 offices in Australia. They have wide coverage in Canada (Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto) and also South Africa (Cape Town) in SCN’s network. All offices are coordinated through Cargowise and ready to collaborate with members throughout the network.
1 Up Cargo was interested in hearing how they can indicate their specializations to connect up better in SCN….so if you haven’t done that yet on your profile, its time to get busy! (or ask SCN for a helping hand)
Both Kevin and Masha, as well as the rest of the 1UP Cargo team, bring on many years of experience and contacts to the network. They’ve already indicated that they’ll be looking to network with flexitank and bulk movers in the network, as well as those who are moving one of Australia’s prime exports: WINE!
We expect that we’ll be seeing quite a lot more of this new member and their activity. Watch out for details on SCN’s newsletters as well as during our cybermeetings…..as well as our worst kept secret…our “possible” SCN Cyber Networking Day!
