If you have a classic car, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, and given more care and attention than most give to their spouse, you’re not going to give it to just anyone to ship around the world!
With that in mind, AUSTORIENT don’t take lightly each and every one of their car shipments, including recent ones for Phillip Island Classic Car Rally near Melbourne, Australia. Their long experience, reputation and networking have put them in contact with various car and rally associations, including owners wanting to ship from UK for the event.
Time and precision are needed for any shipment, be it from documents, DG concerns and down to the last little bug, which Australians dont seem to want in their country. All was taken of, packed up and arranged in origin, with ample time left for the arrival in Australia, especially important considering the current longer transit times.
All going smoothly, until the container transhipped in Singapore, and BAM!!!

A container can roll a week fairly easily, but from that to go to over FIVE weeks, can make for a very anxious client, separated from his beloved car! Even more so if the car needs to be imported, tuned and then raced at Phillip Island. Many calls to high level contacts at the shipping line, pressure and instance followed. “Simply too late” would come to mind, when the car needs to be raced on the Monday, and vessel finally arrives on the Saturday before. (Have you met the quarantine department guys?).
Thanks to the dedication of Austorient staff, including an all nighter and overtime (which did not involve a barbecue and beer for once!) the container was pulled through customs, unstuffed, and tuned just in time.
