In the news this week, SCNers...Dear SCNer
Data….are you also a bit tired of it all?
Yes, its all around us and the science of understanding it all allows us to make the right decision between our many options. But don’t you also get a bit tired of options and tying yourself in knotts instead of rolling up your sleeves, and just getting it done? Who needs to “choose” a good doctor? One is enough (with the right speciality) if they are correctly trained. Who needs all those types of shoes? Same goes for schools. Catchment areas?…where will this race for selection take us?..and how many are left behind?
Well sorry, you don’t have the luxury of choosing and opting out in forwarding. So you might as well get into the data and understand – even if it is just scratching the surface.
Luckily, we have some good friends who do more than scratch the surface for us. We’re setting up our next SCN CYBERMEETING so that you can understand the trends behind AIRFREIGHT RATES (Have you got 45 mins spare on the 3rd May for that?). By how much did rate searches increase in airports near to Shanghai following their lock-down? How much later did rates go up and by how much?….and when are rates coming down again? Looking forward to understanding more there.
As for SCN, we too have been taking a look at who you are reading and looking at. Its not only interesting to see three members as “top post attractions”, but we’d also like to thank them for submitting their news to us. How does that translate to traffic generation? Well, if you’re looking for ROI (and given that we transmit member news for free ) i guess than means infinite returns! Note that all posts are not just in newsletters, but open on SCN’s web and pinned to members’ profiles so you can see the active ones! I continue to invite any of you who wants to post about a boring pallet of “stuff” instead of a sexy Lamborghini. Its what most forwarders move! Give it a go at writing a post.
Thanks again to our members this week who have wanted to transmit a little about themselves. We intend it to be a quick flash read. Then leave in the back of your head the names or contact them if you want to know more.
We are also looking into how we, as a community, can help out others. I’m not one for pushing anyone into the personal choice of charity, but there are many out there who want to help the people of Ukraine and others in difficult situations around the world. Who’s in for that? Please let us know if you’d be interested in aid initiatives to Ukraine now.
Thank you for being part of the SCN community. …we can be so much more than just a bunch of logistic people
