Just as SCN has hits its 20th anniversary of networking, its great to see others similarly hitting milestones in their activity. Maybe we put too much emphasis on these anniversaries (oh…and while we’re at it, Happy Birthday to Dave Lucia for last week), but if they are an excuse to get together and share time, experiences and knowledge, then I’m all for them!

A big thanks to Jose Cortes and Overseas Trade & Logistica (Madrid, Spain) for inviting the SCN team to enjoy their celebrations in Madrid with airlines, clients, friends, shipping lines (yes, some do mingle with forwarders!) and some SCN members. Its also good to see news of other SCN members getting together to celebrate anniversaries and continuation of their networking and business: Well done CIMC Anda Shun (China) and Cotransa (Spain).

Also getting together was PSA, our IT Integration partner. Take a look at the IT solutions that they pulled together, which again I was fortunate to be with, in their annual gathering. How are YOU doing with your digital progress? Don’t hesitate in asking us what we think, so we can at least put a few suggestions your way.

Thanks also for Monika and Johannes of MBS for sharing a little of their holiday with me, as well as their news and thoughts on networking, by inviting me over to Mallorca. Once more, a pleasure to share time with logistics professionals in such wonderful surroundings.

While we are enjoying such celebrations, between the now too common strains of logistics, please also spare a thought for our member Kiy Avia (Kiev, Ukraine) as they continue to give logistics service in such difficult times. We hope that more peaceful and productive times are ahead soon. I very much hope that I can take tehm up on that invite to what I am told is the beautiful city of Kiyv soon.
