2nd October, 2020

Hello SCNer,

Another week seems to have flashed by. Pre-Golden week mayhem for some, CMA-CGM cyberattack hold ups for others…Despite the economic situation around the world, or maybe because of it, its good to see so many interactions and positivity among members.

Many thanks once more for all who took the time to connect up for our SCN Cybermeeting on Wednesday. Three meetings (to suit everyone’s bedtime) and getting ideas flowing. In the end, that is what we try to be here for: creating the situations where members can compare proposals and look for solutions around the network. Special thanks to Rotra and BSI for presenting their ideas and the subsequent feedback.

We’ll be having another Cybermeeting at the end of the month: How to Rule the World….logistically

It was also good to be able to connect up, on an individual basis, with a couple more members on our “Zoom into SCN” campaign. 1Up Cargo (Canada, Australia and South Africa) are fairly new to the network, so it was good to learn more about them – and them about us. The same for ADV Logistics (Mexico & USA) who have of course been with us much longer and wanted to explain about their developing cross boarder Mexico-USA services.

Elsewhere, around SCNland, its good to see Remiro (Holland) active and moving aircraft motors into Kenya, as yet another SCN member shows their prowess in AOG serivces. Meanwhile in India we have DFX (India) terminating a massive project on the Rohtang tunnel and New Globe (India) with a project from India to Bangladesh….thanks for letting us know about those

Looking forward, thanks to Richard at Quick Cargo (London, U.K.) for giving us some insight into the Brexit transition/mayhem/disaster (please use the word option you most like ;-)). There are clearly changes ahead in logistics between UK and Europe…best be as ready as possible! Let us know if you have your own insight and opinion there – as I won’t be sharing mine!

Finally, a quick word from our SCN partner for SOC movements, xChange. They are sharing some interesting data on demurrage and detention from around the world. I’d also like to thank xChange for all the assistance with our upcoming SCN Cyber Networking Day in December….oh! Didn’t I tell you about that one….? Keep watching out for that!

Have a great weekend….or even week’s holiday – just to think our lucky Chinese members will hae a whole week to read through our newsletter this time!)

See you soon

GET INVOLVED

SCNers!

Socially distant they tell us – but we know its physically distant in a close network!

As we get more comfortable with connecting up by screens this year, here at SCN we are increasingly enthusiastic about keeping in contact with you all and getting you all together

What do you think about a Digital SCN MeetUp day? Free on 3rd December?

One-to-One meetings, and a few group conversations, that you’ve not had chance to setting up yourselves. Not a whole week of your time, just a day to explain what you’re good at and look for collaboration.

Let us know if YOU want us to set it up for the SCNer

Please, let us know your comments and ideas: hello@securitycargonetwork.com
